Elfman has already started work on the movie, it’s not a musical and we’re getting our first look in October.

Lionsgate made the official announcement today.

And making up with Raimi is the best news I’ve heard in ages. Is there any more of this event? Do you have a link to that post?
EDIT: Nevermind, got it.
I thought it was awful, really poor. Worst X-Men score by far.
So far this year I’ve really liked La Ligne Droite, Priest and Thor.
But that’s the whole point of the trailer, to judge it.
Anyway, the poster only credits Danny. Maybe he is scoring the whole thing afterall?
Um, wasn’t the problem that Raimi loved what Elfman did so much that he didn’t want anything else for a lot of it?
The reviews for this are really disappointing so far. Elfman’s score has beenn described as ‘melodramatic’ and ‘upbeat’. Should be interesting, I love Elfman in ‘lovely’ mode.

I’ve never recieved a single e-mail regarding this set. I’ve got the bonus disc and everything fine but not once have I been alerted to a date change or anything. I had to get in contact with them a few times to make sure my order was even successful.
I really hope I wasn’t affected by this recent credit card problem some people have seemed to have. It’s annoying.

“Elsewhere, the official Dark Shadows newsletter ShadowGram reports that Tim Burton’s regular composer Danny Elfman will create the musical score for the new film, adding that “Robert Cobert’s original theme will likely be integrated.” Elfman’s other credits include Men in Black, Red Dragon and Spider-Man along with theme music for The Simpsons and Desperate Housewives.”
