KeymasterThe album is now available to stream. When it appeared on Spotify yesterday all tracks but the main titles were credited to Elfman & Bacon, but today I see they must have revised the credits as there are now some tracks credited to Elfman only, just under 15 mins worth.

KeymasterMore details on the score on this site, which makes MFADP look positively modern… 🙂

KeymasterSome press mentions of Danny’s score:
“The score was done by Danny Elfman, who Baumbach encouraged to revisit some of his own scores from the time period that he had long put to bed — like “Midnight Run” — to inform the music.”
https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/noah-baumbach-white-noise-life-death-89108464“The feeling remains that Baumbach is more in command with character-driven material than with this kind of accelerated absurdist plotting, which works to the extent it does in part thanks to Danny Elfman’s dark funhouse score, an exuberant return to vintage form.”
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-reviews/white-noise-adam-driver-greta-gerwig-noah-baumbach-netflix-1235207331/“But it moves with purpose from the get-go as composer Danny Elfman’s Coplandesque strains herald a new school year coming to life for Jack, a protective husband/father in a bustling family with kind, attentive fitness instructor Babette (a crispy-permed Greta Gerwig) and their hyperaware brood…”

KeymasterI’ve been listening to this—AGAIN— but this time in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music… and there are different mixes in this version. For example, I can say that “Only Way” on Apple Music is missing the choir from 1:57 on. Strange! Wonder how many other minor differences there are…

Keymaster🙂 I can’t explain why “A Cup of Tea” wasn’t in my playlist, other than I wanted all of the big, chunky, and LOUD cues and keep it under 50 mins (aiming for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE perfection.) I don’t think there’s been a day since the release of the soundtrack that I haven’t listened to at least part of it. I’ll give your playlist a go.

KeymasterNow available on Disney+ today!

KeymasterNeedless to say, I love BATMAN RETURNS as well. I have the alternate poster (the one with the full-body Catwoman and penguin with his umbrella) framed, though it’s not hanging anywhere at the moment. Times have changed!
I can still recall listening to the cassette back then. “The Children’s Hour” opened Side B.
Batman was never the same after RETURNS and I have grown less interested with each version (lots of great music in some of them, however.)

KeymasterI think “CDR” stands for Cedille Records.
Comparing the disc to another pressed CD, I don’t see any colour difference.
Do on-demand CDR discs not usually come in a jewel case? This is a digipack with booklet insert.

KeymasterNow available on Spotify:
I’ve ordered the CD from Amazon and delivery is early to mid-June!

KeymasterInteresting fact no one asked for, this website’s original name back in 1995 was “Raimi, Elfman, Burton” 😂

KeymasterNeedless to say, this has been on constant repeat since Wednesday AM…
I’ve created a shortened Spotify version that runs just a bit longer than 47 minutes and reorganized the cue order for flow. Check it out here:

KeymasterThey mostly come out when there’s a new MCU movie. Incredibly jealous bunch, really. Snyder’s off doing stuff for Netflix. It’s time for them to move on.

KeymasterIn an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis, Raimi says that he feels Elfman is a “long-lost brother,” and is always his go-to choice when it comes to hiring a composer on a project.
“I loved Michael Giacchino’s Doctor Strange music and I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to work together but I need Danny Elfman by my side,” Raimi tells us. “He’s like my long-lost brother and he’s really a storyteller. He helps me tell the story with his music, but it was wonderful. He loved the Doctor Strange theme and incorporated it into his musical score which was so funny for me because that composer incorporated some of Danny’s pieces into [Spider-Man] No Way Home.”

KeymasterWe’re about 4 weeks away, where’s the score announcement!?
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterAlright, bring on the recording on CD!

KeymasterI downloaded the video to an MP3 and compared it to the OST and there’s no visible difference, and both run 4:21. Is it possible YouTube is serving up a different video file depending on geography/licensing/copyright? Here’s what I see.
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterThe video is the OST version and doesn’t have the film edit (where a few bars of the “Soar” theme were inserted.)
Would love to have everything some day!

KeymasterI think Sony moved 65 from mid-May to late April. That might have bunked Elfman’s schedule, so you’re right, he may have had to jump off the project. This is one of those films where no one seems to know anything about it, which in this internet age, is really annoying.
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterVery cool.
Let’s hope this paces the way for a Disney+ Little Demons series.

KeymasterThe original Hollywood Records album was mastered with gapless playback, but the Intrada disc 1, which is a dupe of the HR master, has .2 sec blank gapes between tracks. It’s something you might only hear through headphones, but Intrada has offered to redo disc 1 and mail out copies to those who purchased through them.
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterNeedless to say, I’ve ordered this 🙂
Here are some of the (direct links to) samples from Intrada:

KeymasterI’ve heard it could be one of those!
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterIt won’t be WOMAN IN THE WINDOW, but it’s one of Elfman’s biggest and best scores… 🙂
