I doubt the validity of this Wikipedia/IMDb info. There are no FINDING NEMO posters will billing blocks, let alone one that credits Danny Elfman.

Oh wow, I was wondering about that graphic at the top of the page and thought it was excellent. Nice work!

Welcome!! And I just checked your theory and I did in fact hear the BATMAN theme in the basses. It’s a very brief quote, and may not even match Elfman’s theme, but damnit, I do hear it 0:10-0:18.

FYI, “InternationalGenius” is the same guy that wrote that mega-Elfman-rip-off score to the lame REAL GHOSTBUSTERS fan-movie! What a douche!

You might as well open a restaurant that caters to the sasquatch. Film scoring isn’t really an avenue for someone wanting to make a go of it. It’s a cut throat, extremely small world where few survive and even fewer make a living out of it.

That said, I’m sure there’s someone here who can recommend some software like Logic, Cakewalk or the like.

The second clip also uses Shirley Walker’s BATMAN theme.

Gotta love YouTube clips where someone films their television!

There’s gotta be 2 x the amount of music in the movie than on the CD!

Spider-Fan, you’re not the only one, but I asked a friend and he tells me that it’s a very common chord progression.

Ron Perlman says, regarding the last shot of the film: “Danny Elfman’s music is sumptuous and so happy and so full of mood and so reflective of what Guillermo had in his heart when he wrote the piece.”

Great story! For a second there I thought they’d be collaborating on a movie called HAUNTED HOTEL STORY. HAHA

Spider-Fan, there’s a way to do things. You wouldn’t go over to your girlfriend’s parents house for the first time and immediately comment on their choice of drapes. A little while later you wouldn’t comment on Mom’s hair. And then alter on deride Dad’s profession. All without a single compliment, good word or pleasant exchange.

That’s what IG did. Signed up just to post a negative comment. And that’s all he did afterwards. I asked him to brighten it up a bit, but he was obviously more intelligent than me, and decided I was wrong. That’s where it got fun. ZAP!

This board isn’t for slavish devotion to Danny Elfman, but it is for appreciation of Danny Elfman. If you’ve got nothing positive and self-deprecating to say in your first post like “Hi! I’m new here, but I’m a bit of an asshole, so watch out!” then I’ll ban your ass faster than you can reload the page!

Agreeing with International Genius is like agreeing with the crazy guy on the street corner muttering to himself.

And you’re basing your judgment on listening to it out of the film and therefore out of context. No wonder you’re confused.

Folks how can anyone be disappointed by the sheer size of some of these cues? There’s a great sense of expanse, a majestic quality from “A Dilemma” right on through to the finale. And this album is loaded with pure Elfmanisms. Keep at it, keep listening and the HB2 picture will slowly materialize for you. I’m loving the score and I’m about 4 times through now.

“Exterminator Beat” is definitely in the film, but it’s permanently lodged on the tip of mind and I can’t quite say where.

Typical review by someone who knows nothing about film music to use the word “haunting”. What is “haunting”? Can you describe it? It’s it a feeling? Is it an emotion? No, it’s neither! Enough off topic threads. A Danny Elfman movie and score just came out last week. Let’s talk about that. This is the last DARK KNIGHT thread that’ll survive the delete button.
