KeymasterAh, you beat me to it. It’s a significant portion of the cue as well.

KeymasterYes, MIB INT, a few seconds of which orchestra contractor Gina Zimitti shared in an Instagram story.

KeymasterMy wife and I just saw it (Granny’s babysitting the little one) and both of us were in tears basically the entire time. Shocked to see the negative reaction to a deeply moving experience. I was waiting for Tim’s story touches and was not disappointed in the inclusion of the Nightmare Island concept.
The score was fantastic in the film – I think the increase in use of the “Soaring” theme really helped and wow, that finale cue is gorgeous.

KeymasterAwesome news. DARKMAN is one of my favorites, as the early 90s period my personal Elfman zenith. I already own the MCA CD and the Waxworx LP reissue (I don’t know if the MCA LP was ever issued in North America, but I could be wrong.)
Fingers crossed cues are not combined on the LLL album.

KeymasterNew 37 minute audio interview with Danny on CBC’s Q:
“From The Simpsons to the eccentric realm of Tim Burton to the superhero universe of Spiderman and Avengers, composer Danny Elfman has been responsible for bringing fictional worlds to life with music for decades. Now he’s taking on a new challenge: his first violin concerto.”

KeymasterHoly shit, “IV. Giacoso. Lacrimae” from 7:50 to 9:03 blew my mind.

KeymasterHmmm, nothing on .ca yet. I recently picked up the song track album for completion sake. This would be a more worthwhile addition.

KeymasterOh, and:
Co-composed with Chris Bacon!

KeymasterWell is this confirmation enough? 🙂

KeymasterBrief clip with score. You can’t hear much, but this is definitely Elfman.

KeymasterYeah, this was a surprise. It literally premieres tomorrow (March 9!)

KeymasterSome new quotes from Elfman on DON’T:
“Anytime I can do anything where someone says, ‘That couldn’t be from you,’ that’s like my highest compliment,” Elfman says.
The rest of the score was written for a tiny ensemble of seven players. There are some wordless vocals, but most of it is just a guitarist and Elfman on keyboards and synths. That was mainly due to the film’s small budget, but Elfman enjoys taking a break from the symphonic juggernauts — including his recent score for “The Grinch” — and stripping things down.

KeymasterYikes, dddeee, you’re right. I think I got this and DUMBO mixed up. My daughter is almost 1 year old and my memory hasn’t returned… Those dumb dad sitcoms might not be totally wrong.

KeymasterWish the recent Elfman London recordings were closer-mic’ed. I prefer being in the orchestra rather than outside of it.
Lots of Prokofiev Romeo & Juliet too. Haven’t really picked out the main theme yet, but so far the score is a romp.Ryan Keaveney

KeymasterJust finished this up tonight, thanks for sharing the link before I could! Perhaps Elfman’s best interview? It seems like he could have talked forever.
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterLooks like Dominic Lewis is scoring this?
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterIsn’t that how it always works? 😉
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterI hear Elfman vocals at the beginning of that trailer.

KeymasterVinyl coming from Mondo October, 2018:
Mission: Impossible – Music From The Original Motion Picture Score 2XLP
I think what you’re hearing is the Schifrin that Elfman worked into his own score?
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterMy Cd shipped yesterday. It seems like a long Elfman drought is finally coming to an end!
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterNice. Isn’t the theatrical version scored with music from the first film? Hard to tell with all the sfx.

KeymasterBeautiful short film. Thanks for posting!

KeymasterI’ve downloaded the movie from iTunes in the hopes of syncing up and pumping up “The Tunnel Fight” full length version in Premiere, but dammit if they haven’t hacked it to shreds, rearranged things and tracked in different music. The full length cue contains more music than what’s in the sequence, and the sequence seems to have at least two inserts from the score that don’t seem to be on the album. It’s turned into a real nightmare of a project.
