Messy but good. Action kind of hard to follow but all the characters shine. Although I didn’t care much for Banner or Hulk in this one.
The ‘New Avengers’ segment is cut from the scene it was obviously meant to accompany, ‘A Promise’ from the first is tracked in, but I think it was temped in earlier in the movie somewhere. It’s really a huge mess musically.
Elfman’s ‘It Begins’ opens the movie but ‘I Got a Ride’ from the first score plays instead of Elfman’s ‘Heroes’ cue.
And Tyler somehow gets it worse. Elfman’s dramatic cues get a bit of a chance to breathe, Scarlet Witch’s big moment (Inevitability) is prominant and ‘Avengers Unite’ is kind of audible, but 90% of what Tyler wrote is completely buried. On the other hand, Silvestri’s cues are prominantly mixed.
A lot of Silvestri music was tracked in. Mixing wasn’t very good, a bit kinder to Elfman than Tyler but not ideal.
Positive review of the score.
Henry Jackman, who was set to score this, isn’t attached to this anymore according to FilmMusicReporter. Seems like Danny might really be doing this?

Happy to get Elfman on the album even though it’s probably a little over a third of what he contributed.
Incidentally, all Elfman’s announced 2015 scores are done, and Miss Peregrine and Alice 2 are a while away yet. I wonder what he’s up to? Wouldn’t be like him to take a long break.
This is surely Elfman though.
Patrick Doyle had one year to compose Cinderella, Branagh let him have free reign, and that still needed an additional composer and Doyle never used one before Cinderella. Times are changing.
It’s been delayed till September.
I read the script for this and thought it was wonderful, far less enthused with the trailer though.
So apparently Danny didn’t write Bliss, my favorite track?

I really don’t like this sort of thing. Buckley should have gotten credit for the track instead of a message on a site only a handful of people would even see.

This is Danny’s year right? Giacchino and Newman are also really prolific this year but Danny’s got everybody beat with the variety of his projects. Erotic romance, superhero epic, horror/thriller, indie drama and a period romance.
Not very much. On the top of my head the logo music, short cue during the show and tell, the long shot leading to Edward in the bathroom with the walls all cut, a bit more suburbs music, a short cue with Edward looking sad while cutting a bush (I think) and then the talk show cue and the cue at the mall that were included in the Elfman/Burton box. I think there might be a little extra in the fight at the end but I can’t quite remember.
Interesting that Elfman has never shared ‘Music By’ credit before but now we have this and ‘Before I Wake’ opening within a week of each other.
