Hunger Games? Interesting. If he does that I’d love to see his schedule, with two blockbusters coming two months after.

And making up with Raimi is the best news I’ve heard in ages. Is there any more of this event? Do you have a link to that post?

    EDIT: Nevermind, got it. :D

I thought it was awful, really poor. Worst X-Men score by far.

So far this year I’ve really liked La Ligne Droite, Priest and Thor.

But that’s the whole point of the trailer, to judge it.

Anyway, the poster only credits Danny. Maybe he is scoring the whole thing afterall?

Um, wasn’t the problem that Raimi loved what Elfman did so much that he didn’t want anything else for a lot of it?

Well at least we know why he couldn’t do Abraham Lincon: Vampire Hunter.

I really love this score. ‘The Truth’ is one of Elfman’s best ever cues.

The reviews for this are really disappointing so far. Elfman’s score has beenn described as ‘melodramatic’ and ‘upbeat’. Should be interesting, I love Elfman in ‘lovely’ mode.

I’ve never recieved a single e-mail regarding this set. I’ve got the bonus disc and everything fine but not once have I been alerted to a date change or anything. I had to get in contact with them a few times to make sure my order was even successful.

I really hope I wasn’t affected by this recent credit card problem some people have seemed to have. It’s annoying.

“Elsewhere, the official Dark Shadows newsletter ShadowGram reports that Tim Burton’s regular composer Danny Elfman will create the musical score for the new film, adding that “Robert Cobert’s original theme will likely be integrated.” Elfman’s other credits include Men in Black, Red Dragon and Spider-Man along with theme music for The Simpsons and Desperate Housewives.”

“I was very happy to get the call that Paul Haggis wanted to meet as I was fan of his work. When he showed me The Next Three Days I was immediately drawn to the musical possibilities and I was quick to take the job. The first thing that struck me was that this probably wouldn’t be a conventional score, at least for me. I felt that Russel Crowe’s character carried so much internal conflict, as it is something that he does so well as an actor, that playing off that inner struggle would be challenging and engrossing

As I began work with Paul, I had no idea what to expect. After diving in and trying out a number of ideas, it quickly became a really creative and easy flowing collaboration. I was really impressed with his clarity of thought and his appreciation of the wide range of ideas he allowed me to explore. I knew early that the piano would be the centre of the score. it was a good thing that we didn’t record with a large orchestra because it forced me to be more disciplined and leaner in my approach, which I enjoyed. Most of all I enjoyed the simple straightforward process of working with Paul. His mind, his intuition and that he is simply a pleasure to be around has made this project go down as an all-around great experience for me.”

    Thank you, Paul.

“I cannot imagine a better collaboration than the one I had with Danny. It is an inarguable fact that he is a musical genius. The true suprise was his openness, humility and unending generosity. I hope there are many more collaborations in our future, as the process was nothing short of pure joy, and resulted in what I’m sure you’ll agree is an incredible score.”

    Sincerely,

    Paul Haggis.

Just thought I’d type this out after recieving the proper CD today.

Shame. Though for a March movie that got mixed reviews to get a GG and BAFTA nom is pretty brilliant.

    At least HTTYD was nominated.
