My parents had me listen to Boingo via headphones while I was still in the womb. I guess you could say I was an Elfman fan before I was born!
Although, when I was seven, I became obsessed with Nightmare and Jurassic Park, and absolutely loved the music in both. I turned out to be more of an Elfman fan.
Interesting. I always kind of figured that’s the reason why Boingo was so dark (especially considering the song “Can’t See”), but never thought of Boi-ngo in those terms. Here’s a picture I came across with Oliver in it. What a cute kid! Doesn’t look anything like his dad, though!
A guy of Elfman’s stature probably doesn’t give a shit about the Oscars. It’s insignificant in comparison to what he’s already accomplished! He probably just went as an excuse to get out of the house. The guy probably doesn’t get out much when he’s working constantly!

They’re both different. I don’t know why pieces of Serenada were injected into the score, really. The score is awesome, but it’s not as brilliant or as varied as his epic concert work.
I love the score to Spiderman, but honestly, I think Elfman is too good for the new movies Raimi’s been shitting out. I would be disappointed if he returned to score the latest.
