- Mr. DantzParticipant
Speaking of Little Demons, a high quality version of “The Cat is Dead” was just recently posted on his newly designed website: https://www.dannyelfman.com/misc/thecatisdead
As well as some children’s songs I’d never heard before: https://www.dannyelfman.com/misc/childrens-songs.
Mr. DantzParticipantI don’t know. My BS meter is going haywire on these accusations, especially Abadi’s. Can’t stand her.
Mr. DantzParticipantUnfortunately, there’s another accusation. I’m one to believe the vast majority of women when they say they were abused, but in my opinion both of these stories seem very iffy and full of holes. What does everyone else think of this?
https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2023-10-20/danny-elfman-is-accused-of-sexual-assault-by-a-second-woman-alleging-abuse-when-she-was-a-young-composerMr. DantzParticipantIf Elfman did nothing wrong, you can’t blame him for settling to make her go away in the first place. In these days where you’re guilty until proven innocent, he would’ve been “cancelled” for years, or indefinitely. The Depp case is an obvious example.
Mr. DantzParticipantI’m also surprised by the lack of conversation about this. The Variety article omits some details. Here’s the original Rolling Stone article: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/danny-elfman-nomi-abadi-sexual-harassment-allegation-1234791842/
Keep in mind this article was written before Elfman had even received the lawsuit.
I don’t know if I buy this. Abadi visited Elfman multiple times for a year AFTER he had allegedly acted inappropriately towards her, and even flew to Paris with him and took nude photos. If she’s telling the truth, would she have continued to visit him for so long after the fact? Two of Abadi’s friends think she’s lying. Of course, I will change my mind if more evidence is provided, but right now some things just don’t add up.
Mr. DantzParticipantListening to this right now. It sounds better than the “Composer’s Edition”. More spacious and wider sounding. Such an underrated score!
Mr. DantzParticipantYeah, it looks like it’s actually him. He’s been posting interesting stuff just about every day. So cool.

April 2, 2019 at 12:12 am in reply to: Sony Classical Releasing 'Eleven-Eleven' and Piano Quartet #98905Mr. DantzParticipantI’ve noticed his social media pages have been more active recently. I wonder if someone is managing them, or if he’s doing all this himself?
March 26, 2019 at 4:58 am in reply to: Sony Classical Releasing 'Eleven-Eleven' and Piano Quartet #98879Mr. DantzParticipantHe made it seem like it was new material and not Boingo related. Maybe a new solo rock album with chamber orchestra? That would be sweet! I’m drooling at the possibility of an Elfman cello concerto.
March 25, 2019 at 5:59 pm in reply to: Sony Classical Releasing 'Eleven-Eleven' and Piano Quartet #98874Mr. DantzParticipantI read Elfman’s already lined up commissions for a cello concerto AND a percussion concerto.
March 24, 2019 at 2:04 am in reply to: Sony Classical Releasing 'Eleven-Eleven' and Piano Quartet #98870Mr. DantzParticipantThis work just reinforces my notion that Elfman is, indeed, God.
Mr. DantzParticipantAccording to that site, Robert Smith of The Cure was Burton’s 1st choice to score Edward Scissorhands?
Mr. DantzParticipantLol at the shout-out to his “Morlock brothers and sisters”.
Mr. DantzParticipantAbout bloody time!
Mr. DantzParticipantWould LOVE to have this, but RETURNS would be awesome. To me, it’s a much better score.
Mr. DantzParticipantLove it. This score deserves a better movie. And to think it was rejected at one point!
Mr. DantzParticipantThat was last year. Hopefully it’s still in the works.
Mr. DantzParticipantAnyone know the meaning/story behind the often used track name Weepy Donuts?
Mr. DantzParticipantI LOVE interviews like this. Thanks for sharing!
Mr. DantzParticipantWow, you’re right. There’s no WAY that wasn’t intentional. Is Elfman having a laugh?
Mr. DantzParticipantJames Franco can’t act his way out of a soap bubble, lol.
Mr. DantzParticipantVery nice. Hopefully indicative of what the rest of the score is like. If it is part of the score.
Mr. DantzParticipantSounds like guitar harmonics.
Mr. DantzParticipantThat is awesome. He has such a great voice, it’s a shame he doesn’t use it more often.
