Only a group this talented can make something this troubled.
RCoxParticipantSince it seems that Walt Disney Records is going the download-only route for score albums (as shown with National Treasure 2 and Up), is it possible that there will be no CD release for Elfman’s Alice?
RCoxParticipantNine: The Musical was supposed to come out last fall, but was delayed by the writer’s strike. Any Nostradamians wanna chime in?
RCoxParticipantSoundtrack on May 19th from Warner Bros. No other info…
RCoxParticipantRight now, I just wanna know what label is releasing the Salvation score.
RCoxParticipantBrilliant composer and I miss him already.
RCoxParticipantI wanna know how a second sequel that had a LOT more development time than it’s predecessor (two years between Spidey 1 and 2, three years between 2 and 3) still feels like a rush job. It felt like three underdeveloped movies in one!
RCoxParticipantGiven that Zack Efron was presenting the award, I was rooting for Elfman to get it some other time.
RCoxParticipantThe movie’s not coming out until November, so not much use in getting super excited right now.
RCoxParticipantHad the interview continued, Elfman’s next comment would have been: “So, have fun doing ‘Ed Wood,’ asshole!”
To which Shore would have replied: “Yes, how was ‘Mars Attacks!,’ douche!”
RCoxParticipantThe tracklist on Amazon confirms the triumphant return of Weepy Donuts.
RCoxParticipantHey, Freakazoid. Wanna get a snowcone?
RCoxParticipantAs far as I know, the only composer to be replaced on a Pixar film is John Barry on “The Incredibles.” Mr. Barry left the project a year before its release, giving Michael Giacchino the opportunity to write a really kick-ass score.
RCoxParticipantIt’s good to see someone trying to properly represent Walker on CD.
RCoxParticipantHellboy II, Wanted, and the amazing Standard Operating Procedure represent Elfman’s best film work since Sleepy Hollow and Planet of the Apes, in my opinion. It’s been a very good summer. And we still have Milk on the horizon!
RCoxParticipantWhy’s everybody making such a big deal about Hellboy 2? Doesn’t everybody know that the album for the Dark Knight is coming out soon?
….just kiddin’
June 3, 2008 at 4:06 am in reply to: Danny annotates the ‘Rabbit and Rouge’ finale in the New York mag #60861RCoxParticipantI believe I once read an article in which James Horner discussed that some of his earlier woodwind work had to be rearranged because he was writing stuff that was impossible for the players to perform (limited time for breathing).
RCoxParticipantIt’s great to hear Williams period! It’s been two and a half years since Munich!
RCoxParticipantLo Duca will probably be called in when Young is unable to replicate the temp track to Mr. Raimi’s satisfaction.
RCoxParticipantI agree 100% with the above statement.
RCoxParticipantYazbek is a very talented lyricist. Here’s a sample of “All About Ruprecht” from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels:
With a little brother like this
You can’t help but have
A happy home.
With style upon grace
And a smile upon his face
And all that’s missing is a
chromosome!RCoxParticipantHell, I’m just happy to see Williams back! It’s been a long time since Munich!
RCoxParticipantA guy who does storyboards is called a storyboard artist.
RCoxParticipantConsidering that Burton’s recent efforts also include “Planet of the Apes,” “Big Fish,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Monsterhead does have a legitimate argument, “Sweeney Todd” notwithstanding.
RCoxParticipant“Back in Business” is a lot of fun, too.
