KeymasterThis is from the show ROBOT CHICKEN (which airs on Cartoon Network).
THE CRITIC, the animated series that aired on FOX, did the same thing years and years ago.

KeymasterI don’t expect anyone will confirm anything for me at this point seeing as the movie is 6 months away. There’s no reason to get anxious yet.

KeymasterIt’s been posted on pretty much all of the film music websites. Terrible news. Basil was a favorite of mine.

KeymasterJust listen for the sound of that fat check falling into Elfman’s bank account and you’ll know he’s on the project!

KeymasterCool trailer, but had Sony aired that they would have blown their wad too early!
Can’t wait for Elfman’s Venom theme

KeymasterNot to contradict Thor, but I think this is more in BIG FISH, BLACK BEAUTY territory. There’s a strong rural music element in CHARLOTTE’S for fiddle and percussion that you won’t hear in EDWARD!

KeymasterSorry, but BOND makes me YAWN(D).

KeymasterThe finale/end title, “Wilbur’s Homecoming” is gorgeous. That’s the score’s main theme that opens the sample.

KeymasterWhy do I have to hand-hold people with these links? I just copied and pasted the whole link (admittedly the last letter was not hyperlinked) and it worked. Come on people, lets get it together!

KeymasterIf you’re still using Windows 98 then not having iTunes is the least of your worries!

KeymasterThor, I linked directly to the Essentials list on the U.S. store in my first post in this thread. Anyone in the world can click on that and view the list.
Ryan

KeymasterThor, you can still preview and read the content on any iTunes site, none of which can be copied and pasted. Follow the link to the U.S. store instead.

KeymasterI thought you’d probably have to log into the U.S. iTunes store to see the playlist, but shockingly there’s also an entry in the Canadian store.
Here’s a link to the U.S. store entry:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewMix?id=203118622&s=143441&wm=1And a link to the Canadian store entry:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewMix?id=200398469&s=143455&wm=1If you want to find the Essentials entry in your local iTunes, just open up the program, load the store and search “Danny Elfman”. If it’s available where you are it will show up in the search results as “Essentials”.

KeymasterRemember, word was that Elfman didn’t write his own music, etc. Hollywood is a vicious, jealous town… Particularly if you enjoy phenomenal success!

KeymasterThere are two issues: licensing the tracks and paying the re-use fees for the union orchestras that performed them (there are a few Elfman scores since 1996 that are exempt from re-use fees, however).
That is an incredible expense for any label considering these days rampant downloading has eroded the music industry and is slowly killing off niche genres like soundtracks.

KeymasterHaha. I had the opportunity to interview Hans Zimmer and I actually think he’s a really cool, talented guy.

KeymasterThey sound like two very distinct mixes of the same song. The new NIGHTMARE “This is Halloween” demo features a vox sample at the beginning and throughout the track.

KeymasterI picked up the 2-disc this morning, not at Best Buy (Canada) – they didn’t have any copies (huh?) but at HMV. So the mystery of what their “exclusive” tracks are remains a mystery for the next few hours!
