Danny’s i-Tunes biography lists his hometown as Amarillo! Hilarious. I thought that rumour had died years ago.
That is shown all the time. Danny must be making a mint. Good for him! Also, large portions of the Beetlejuice score were used in ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ the other night and to good effect. It sounded like a brass ensemble version, but it definitely wasn’t the original score.
Along with this, I think they should’ve released perhaps a more affordable compilation that containted highlights from each soundtrack and a bunch of rarities. It seems a little unfair on the majority of Elfman/Burton fans who couldn’t dream of buying this.
I am a huge Boingo freak, but the production on Boingo Alive is awful. The energy is high-octane and captures the feel of their live shows, however, the songs, save from a few, just sound tinny. Also, synthesized horns. Criminal. The Anthology is a pretty good place to start. Saying that, most of their albums are dirt cheap to buy from Amazon anyway. Don’t forget So-Lo, the lost Boingo album. Simply uh-mazing.
Such a great shame. I think the Alice Theme with the words is one of the most beautiful things Elfman has penned. Unfortunately, it’s tagged on at the very end for very few people to hear. Does anybody think that it was written for an extended title sequence, as you tend to have with a Burton film, but was later scrapped?
Wasn’t some of the music Lalo Schifrin’s unused music for The Exorcist, which was then used for The Amityville Horror?

I’m confused. Surely Tim Burton will need someone to adapt the music, so why not hire Elfman to do the job?
