Sam Taylor Johnson’s posting some photos. Looks like she was also at one of the concerts and took photos of some of his scores at his house. She seems like a big fan.

Score was cut from the movie and replaced with a Lana Del Rey song.

I wonder if Somnia is a ‘9’ situation. The movie is finished yet there’s no Elfman regulars credited to it.
Acting looks spot on, cinematography and production design look great too but there’s something really ‘Lifetime’ movie about it. I think this might be more of a Hitchcock than an Ed Wood quality wise.
He’s not the most prolific composer in Hollywood (though he’s up there) like he was a while ago, but I’m happy with that. I think his choices are way more interesting now.

Sleepy Hollow was being fast tracked at the time with Kevin Yagher set to direct, it was being made there and then regardless of Burton’s involvement. Plus it was Sleepy Hollow that inspired whoever at Fox to ask Burton to direct Apes despite interest from James Cameron.
I don’t know whether the movie would be good or not. Certainly the visuals look to have been weird and different but the draft of the script I read was pretty terrible. Worst case scenario is that it would have been interesting though, which is more than can be said for the two Superman movies that have followed.
Had Burton done this, he never could have done Sleepy Hollow and therefore wouldn’t have landed Planet of the Apes. It’s weird to think about.
I dunno. Just recently Alice and Dark Shadows were probably two of the three weakest scripts Burton has directed. Seth Graham-Smith has developed a very unflattering reputation really quickly. Fingers crossed he’s learnt from his mistakes.

It mentions filming is to start Feb of next year so it’s going to be delayed till 2016 most likely.
I can’t imagine the score being anything like Sommersby. This is very contemporary, and modern while Sommersby was a very old fashioned, period piece.
Yeah I’m really excited about it for the same reasons. I’m imagining a more romantic Next Three Days but I’m really not sure.
I still haven’t got round to buying those, would need to get a move on. Did get Mask of the Phantasm though.
Live performance at the Hollywood Bowl, Elfman was in attendance. Most of the music is not on the album.
