Good news for the End Credits suite but I hope the cd contains the main cues, ’cause if I had to choose I wouldn’t have use thoses 7 minutes for the that (it’s just the same without the lyrics, I was a bit disappointed when I heard it). I’m pretty sure the “Wonka Bar around the World” for example won’t be in there and that’s sad…
But I can be completely wrong about this. I just have to wait one more day normally…
Edward BloomParticipantHem…http://elfman.filmmusic.com/forum/read.php?7,18243,18252#18252
It happens to the bests Ryan !
I’m waiting fo the “Soundtrack” section to open thought…
Edward BloomParticipantYeah, it’s the main theme of the film, the Factory’s theme…I love it.
Edward BloomParticipantFinally, I decided to make a review out of this post, so check out the main forum page…
Edward BloomParticipantWell….I must say that I really don’t care about that.
Edward BloomParticipantAnd we can now listen to parts of the score in every section on the official website :
http://pdl.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/charlie/flashsite/index.html
Man, that music in the “Fun & Games” section is insane !
Don’t forget to select every character in the “Characters” section !Edward BloomParticipantHonest but I’m must say that I was hoping more than 48 minutes…
But if we have the main cues, it’s ok. Who knows, maybe there’s not too much music in this one…Edward BloomParticipantI’ll see it next monday and might get the cd the next day….I’m so happy !
Edward BloomParticipantI think it has something to do with computers…
Edward BloomParticipantSince this film has been announced for years, I wouldn’t call this a “rushed production”…
Edward BloomParticipantRead the first letter of each track…
Edward BloomParticipantDid you noticed something about that weird tracklisting ?
4. Barbastella
5. Artibeus
6. Tadarida
7. Macrotus
8. Antrozous
9. NycterisEdward BloomParticipantClausen deserves to score it after so many years of wonderful music for the show. After all, he’s the person who gave the Simpsons their musical signature. Of course, Elfman composed the main theme but we all know how a theme is nothing if it’s not employed properly…
Edward BloomParticipantNo way…
I’m pretty sure Danny won’t be a part of this for 2 reasons :– Superheroes again !
– Two previous composers already established the films’ musical style and I don’t think Danny would accept to follow their work; there are B-list or young composers for that.If he ends up composing for this film, there would be only one reason for that : $.
Edward BloomParticipantI don’t know if anyone noticed this, but at the bottom of the official site pages, there’s a soundtrack note :
“Soundtrack by Danny Elfman
Features ‘Wonka’s Welcome Song’ and four original Oompa-Loompa songs”So now, we know how many songs there are…
Edward BloomParticipantAnd we don’t need a new topic about Spider-Man everytime you think of something about it…
Edward BloomParticipantYeah….but only Elfman and now Ottman belong to the genre if we agree on your criterions. It’s like looking for composers belonging to the Star Wars genre…
May 25, 2005 at 7:36 pm in reply to: if he’s not doing spiderman 3 then how about alan silversti #54056Edward BloomParticipantJohn Debney is a typical yesman to me; he does what the producers ask him to, without trying to elaborate a musical world of his own. Sorry to be so radical but I hate to see that kind of approach rewarded while many talented composers never get their chance in the industry because they try new things, they try to develop thematics through their works. That’s what a composer like Christopher Young does and, if Danny doesn’t compose the music for S-M3, I’d be delighted if they offer him the chance to finally express himself in a summer blockbuster (even though he’ll have to use Danny’s themes). It would a kind of recognition that he deserves…
Edit : about Ottman, I think he has talent but I find his music too predictable, too obvious. It is really effective and entertaining but his work for X², as an instance, doesn’t have half of Kamen’s X-men’ depth…
Edward BloomParticipantIgnore this post…
Edward BloomParticipantHere’s my version of the scene :
http://home.scarlet.be/~mellow44/film/SpidermanTrain.wmv
The differences are subtle in the second half so I decided to change several things in the beginning; Ryan’s editing is the right one for that part (I had to loop sometimes to make it work) but it was fun to try something else.
Just tell me what you think of it !
Edward BloomParticipantI might be interested in editing it my way, I had other ideas. I’ll email you as soon as am I’m finished with the editing of my own movie …
Edward BloomParticipantThank you !
I was planning to work on it during the summer to exercise my editing skills but I don’t think I would have done better than this. Great work !I think that some parts of the Train track were composed for shots that are not in the final cut (I read that the sequence was longer at first) so maybe that’s why it doesn’t match everytime – that and Sony reediting…
Edward BloomParticipantHem….does it really matter ?

I don’t even remember when I uploaded those clips…
Anyway, you’ll find what you’re looking for with “savemybaby” and “spidertheme”. “Spider Fall” and “Special Delivery” might interest you aswell…Edward BloomParticipantHe’s not dead you know….
