ParticipantI think we would have heard by know if Elfman is outta here. Though I still think there is plenty of time for him to jump ship.
Sounds like SPIDER MAN 3 is also doing reshoots as well, but hey, that’s common – doesn’t mean it’s a bad movie…
Monsterhead
ParticipantYes, yes. It was released in June of this year – but it was new to me, and no one else posted comments about it yet…
My CD sounds fine, and I’m listening to it…………. NOW (joy!)

ParticipantI, for one, love Elfman’s “light” music. While I could really care less about the movie itself, I cannot wait to have the soundtrack in my mitts…
Monsterhead
ParticipantBahhhhhh! This sounds like rubbish to me. I can’t really see Burton doing this as a musical. Until it’s in front of the cameras, this is all hear say to me.
Monsterhead
ParticipantWhooooo-raaaaay……

ParticipantAs stated before, I doubt this movie ever began production. Elfman’s lack of involement is only because there is nothing to be involved in.

ParticipantQuotes or just similarities? I think Elfman’s work is just similar to Scott’s really. Indeed, Scott’s electronis music is great – and if you really want to round out your music collection, pick up THE MANHATTEN RESEARCH CO. CD. Crazy stuff man, carzy….

ParticipantI’ve never thought of Horner as all that original, and the music certainly doesn’t sound like his individual
—
Funny you should say that, as Horner was sued for the work he did on HONEY, for his use of the tune “Powerhouse”. He did not give credit to its composer Raymond Scott. (It’s used during the opening credits, I can’t remeber if the tune pops up in the actual movie) R. Scott won the lawsuit.R.Scott’s highly infectious “conveyer belt” music was licensed to Warner Brothers for use in many classic Bugs Bunny cartoons. It was in fact an original composition – but many people assumed it was just some littlle bit of music you used to hear in old cartoons, and it just reflects poorly on Horner for not knowing, or looking into see if anyone actually owned it.
All Elfman fans should no about R. Scott, easily one of the most influential and prolific American composers on the 20th Century:

ParticipantAn interesting read. I’m almost more curious to hear the music that Beck wrote. If it was enough to scare movie execs, it must be great.
Odd, the same sort of thing was happening with Elfman with BEETLEJUICE nearly twenty years ago. But we all know how that turned out….
Christ. BEETLEJUICE – nearly twenty years ago. My God I’m actually getting OLD.

ParticipantI’m breathing a bit easier now. There is a movie from 1936 about Sweeney Todd – Victorain London, Horror – sound like great Burton manterial to me…
I hope they stick with that route. Sounds better than RIPLEY, if I might add.
Monsterhead
ParticipantAhhh sh*t. This will suck is Burton sticks to the Sondheim musical. I’d love to see Burton to a version of the Demon Barber, but not as a musical. PLEASE GOD, I hope this story changes for the better.
Monsterhead
ParticipantYeah, it was a reminder note to Wayne Wang…..
Monsterhead
ParticipantI doubt this was ever even shot…..
This has been in “production” for some time and I’m sure it was just put onto imdb for publicity sake, and yes it is suposed to be a sequel to FZ.
Monsterhead
ParticipantAhhhhhh, whatever different people may think, I for one feel like her voice was a nice touch. Not too Elfman-sh, yes. But a helluva lot better than Horner or Zimmer.
And how are Oompa Loompas “ethnic”?
Monsterhead
ParticipantThat wailing woman is Natasha Atlas – she even has some albums out. I believe she’s Greek and would be found in an international section of a music store….
I’m not surprised at all that Elfman would use someone like her in his music.

ParticipantTESTIFY!!
And as far as Lee pushing Elfman to not be too “Elfman” I seem to recall hearing Danny say on the DVD that he liked that…..
And what theme did Danny incorporate of Dayna’s?!?! That’s the first I heard of that.

ParticipantI myself have always been picked-on for enjoying THE HULK – I though it was a good movie -so kill me!!
I read months ago that Bana is not going to do it because it was going to be direct-to-video and that David Duchovney was going to star. But things change all the time, so who knows? With escalating costs for special effects, I don’t think we’ll see this on the big screen any time soon….
Though, as a fan, I’m fully prepared to stick my foot in my mouth. And of course I’d love to hear Danny’s follow up approach to the score. But I think his music was about as ‘all out’ as it could have gotten.
Monsterhead
ParticipantInteresting….
I doubt the changes are being made in the US version though, still, what an odd thing for censors to demand changes on.
Monsterhead
ParticipantYeah, seeing how this is going to be straight-to-video, I doubt Danny will do it….
Maybe Christopher Young has room in his schedule?Monsterhead
ParticipantHardly Brad Bird? I disagree. I love how the canned dog food wiggles and slides out of the can. Great sound design too. That was great animation, take a second look. It may not have been CG, but it was still good looking stuff….

ParticipantFavorite Episode: REMOTE CONROL MAN – about some unhappy schlump who finds a high tech remote control and is able to turn every one in his family into someone from a TV show. Funny stuff. Look for Sid Haig in a small role.
THE FAMILY DOG (where’s the CD with that music?) was great. I remember most of these episodes from when I was a kid, and I’m happy to see them coming out on DVD. Another great episode is Scorsese’s MIRROR,MIRROR about a horror novelist who is being stalked by a killer who only he can see in reflective surfaces. Sam Waterston starred, and I seem to recall Tim Robbins was the killer – looked just like Vincent Price from HOUSE OF WAX.
Monsterhead
ParticipantWhile I myself am not anti-Tom Cruise, I just wished I saw and heard less of him. And when will Tom and Katie get married? Who knows, when does Tom have a new movie coming out?
Monsterhead
ParticipantBLEEEEEECCCCHHHHH!!!!!
Go sit in the corner for your awful posting…..
NOW!

ParticipantFebruary 17th 2007. It’s from a german director whose last film was the controversial DOWNFALL about Hitler’s final days. This will be his first Hollywood film and it stars Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. This would also be the fourth remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS if you even consider this a remake at all. It sounds like a whole new script to me…..
Monsterhead
ParticipantCan’t wait to hear it! Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to get a full CD of the score….
