Thanks for the comments, folks! It’s funny, I keep making plans for upgrades and then things come up that push things back. I’m really, really looking forward to a time (hopefully soon!) where my nights are totally free to just tinker on MFADP. Maybe there will be some stuff in place before the Elfman concert in October. Until then I’m glad you’re still getting a kick out of the site as is.
I want to say it was released in September, 1989. Prince’s album was in stores the second week of July.
Also, what cover did everyone get? The one on Amazon.com/ca is the Peabody/Sherman image… The one you actually get is Peabody wearing the Roman helmet.
Includes the latin/english translation of the choir part in “Descent Into Mystery.”
It does say in the booklet “All Score Cues Composed by Danny Elfman” – meaning perhaps that the album material is all his. Or I’ll just keep telling myself that!

I’ve ordered it from Amazon.ca, so it won’t ship until next week. I’ve heard the first two tracks and they are fantastic – like a merge between BACK TO SCHOOL, FAMILY DOG and his “Overeager Overture.” Looking forward to having the CD in my hands.
I’d love another shot at EDWARD, I missed out. I wonder what HULK would be like with all the prelays. BATMAN RETURNS could be next.
Music Box has provided me with a promo of the score to share clips with on the site. I hope to have some up tonight or Friday night… There are a couple of nice bonus cues not heard outside the film that make this an essential buy!

Wow, very nice! I was watching videos of the LA concert on Instagram last night. I went to the Detroit concert (the closest to where I live) and it was light on star power, but the music was fantastic.
I bought this book at the Burton exhibit while it was in Toronto. It’s fantastic — very big, very heavy! Definitely not bedtime browsing. You might suffocate.
