Monsters R us, you should try to think before typing something down, it’ll improve the quality of your posts…

To answer the question : yes, as Dawg Man said, Beethoven’s 14th piano sonata, 1st movement. Elfman’s homage is obvious but he manages to avoid plagiarism by injecting his own atmosphere…;)

Hey, I don’t have any lyrics in my booklet… :S

Anyway, I think you can find them on the imdb board of the film.

Me too (I’m in Belgium)…I thought Msn Chat closed everywhere in the world, didn’t it ? Thanks again Microsoft, it always works half of the time.

Anyway, 8 pm Est means 2 am here…I have class tomorrow you know !
I hope some of you will tell us what he talked about. Since it’s moderated, I don’t expect much of this but who knows…

No it’s no special edition ’cause….I got the cd !

I’m so happy; it’s actually 59:38 minutes long. I’m listening to it for the first time, I’ll get back later to tell you more about it.
From what I hear, the songs’ versions are identical to the ones on the soundtrack official’s site…

Oh well, that’s too bad….but not that bad. It’s an internet chat, you can’t except to talk to him like in a actual conversation; still, it doesn’t happen everyday…

    Someday…as in “today” ? :)

    Yourself, on FSM forum :
“Why don’t you ask Mr. Spielberg why he refused Sony’s attempt to license “Anderton’s Great Escape” from MINORITY REPORT at Sam Raimi’s request? Maybe that would have worked for the fanboys? Yes, they temped the E-Train sequence with MINORITY REPORT and were ready to LICENSE the cue because Elfman refused to rip it off. That took balls and integrity to walk away, and kudos to Spielberg for having the brains to not let Raimi cheapen his picture with licensed music. SPIDER-MAN 2 is not MISS CONGENIALITY 2!”

I hope you don’t mind this.

Pretty disappointing to read anyway. What happened to you M. Raimi ? :(

Yeah…from time to time. I really thought it was becoming a standard feature when a famous composer composed for the film but it didn’t. The last track I can think of is Beltrami’s I Robot.

Could someone make mp3’s out of them ? I tried but had problem with the pitch; it raises on a very funny yet not faithful level…

Sorry to bother but if these are demos, they’re not going to be online forever and I’d like to be able to listen to them in five years…:)

According to DvdAnswers (a reliable source), it’s just the old edition with a new packaging :

Columbia is doing the same for Big Fish. Nothing to celebrate if you have the previous editions of those films…

I think some Corpse Bride’s design and artwork look very similar to Monkey Island videogames; and that’s a good thing…:)

I don’t have any “dream project” but I’d like to see him work with directors I like such as Scorsese, Stone, Polanski, Gilliam or compose again for a Van Sant or DePalma movie.
There are also genres I’d like him to taste. I’m thinking of western (wasn’t he supposed to score The Quick & the Dead ?) or thriller. And superheroes, he never did that…

Don’t be, this is typical imdb information. A while ago, there was a composer who was supposed to write the music for X³, Spider-Man 3 and Harry Potter 4…

    >>> e) Synth orchestra?! Either that or the mixing is really bad – I hope they will clean this up for the final release.

Well yes, Elfman is no Vangelis or Zimmer. It’s pretty obvious those are demos…
