I never saw Buba Ho-Tep but I listened to a clip or two of it on Brian’s site and didn’t like it that much. Greatest Game ever played has really nice music except for the theme he stole from Legends of the Fall.

Oh and Ryan did you make Brian Tyler’s site? That’s one sweet looking site.

There’s still Steven Scott Smalley who was an orchestrator on Batman who has an orchestration course in L.A. and New York where he provides samples from Batman that show Elfman sketches and then his work with extra harmonies and melodies. Anyways I know this stuff makes people mad so i’ll stop now. :) Danny is still my favourite composer wether he had help or not…not a big deal.

I meant to write probably with the exception of Williams. Congrats though on your contribution of misinformation on Shirley’s site.

Pretty much all composers with the exception of Williams use ghost writers who don’t get credit. When your under such a time crunch ya need em.

Well in the end she is still a co composer according to her website. And Scott Smalley composed some stuff too unless he has gone senile and is lying. :)

Although VSL does have the Epic Horns which are the most realistic samples I own at the moment.

Debney is amazing, i’d love it if he scored X3. Ottman is mediocre at best.

Well you’re not wrong about shirley walker writing any of the Batman score as she is listed as a co-composer. I know Scott Smalley wrote some stuff too…which is why I want to take his orchestration seminar to get my hands on some Batman sheet music.

Do not forget about Sonic Implants orchestra. I know that Elfman has EWQLSO but he probably has just about every library anyways. EWQLSO has a nice out of the boxness compared to VSL. VSL of course you will get the real legato from the sampled intervals. These libraries have their strengths and weaknesses. I’d say best strings and brass go to Sonic Implants while best percussion goes to Truestrike by project SAM and best winds are probably in VSL because you really want the legato with those. As for choir SOV sounds quite good for pads but it’s old and still expensive. These days I think EWQLSC is best for choir. I can vouch for atmosphere and Stormdrum as good purchases. Best piano for film IMO is Art Vista’s Malmsjo. Of course the best samples are in custom libs but not everyone has money for that. :)

Maybe Van Sant didn’t feel he ruined psycho enough the last time and wants another go at it?

Danny Elfman would kinda have to be a retard not to know how to read music after over 20 years of film scores…

How could anyone not? Like someone said Elfman was at the top of his game from 89-94. Wish that old Elfman would come back someday. Had a brief glimpse of his greatness with Sleepy Hollow in 98 though.

The upcoming film about American Mcgees Alice video game. It’s going to have some crappy director and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Alice…. :( Imagine if Tim Directed with like Christina Ricci as Alice in a disturbing wacky version of the tale with Elfman doing the score… Sigh.
