ParticipantThat was a lovely moment . . .
Katie
ParticipantSo does that mean I’m justified if I post a message about the Planet of the Apes score with the subject line, “Danny Elfman killed in plane crash” just because I want lots of people to read what I wrote?
Katie
ParticipantGeez . . . you’re gonna get people all worked up with that subject name.
Hell no . . . Polar Express doesn’t sound anything like Edward Scissorhands . . . and wouldn’t it be record labels suing each other instead of composers?
Katie
ParticipantThe font is dark. It makes the pages hard to read.
Just kidding . . . never had a problem with the font. I think it would be really cool if the news page got revamped . . . maybe a different format or something to make it more “inviting” (pictures?) . . . also, possibly, some disclaimer/FAQ type information on the home page, not just the discussion board (may reduce the number of posters wanting sheet music etc.)
I LOVE the features section . . . I don’t care if the layout changes but don’t take it away from me!

ParticipantI can understand moving things around for acoustic effects . . . I had just gotten the impression from the article that the “spatial orientation” would be visual.
Katie
ParticipantI remember posting about this awhile back . . . but there’s this haunted house in the Valley called SpookyHouse (which is supposed to be the best haunted house in LA . . . I have my doubts) and there’s three separate themed houses to go into. One of them is called “Blood Bath and Beyond” (a play on a home store called Bed Bath and Beyond for those of you unfamiliar with it) and all throughout the “store” there is a really twisted, slowed-down, warped recording of Dead Man’s Party. It’s fun.
Katie
Participant“novel . . . spatial orientations of musicians” . . .
WHAT?????
(“Hey, I’ve got this really awesome idea . . . let’s switch the tuba with the timpani! It’ll totally blow people’s minds, dude!”)
Katie
ParticipantWho says I’m not a stoner?
Katie
ParticipantWhoa . . . that’s a little trippy. And in a TOTALLY, totally different direction than I ever would have guessed . . .
However, I am quite thankful that Johnny Depp does not look or act as effeminate as the posters led me to believe he would . . .
Katie
ParticipantSweet, I’m going to the Grammys this year . . .
Even better!
Katie
ParticipantI thought it was all about what percentage of new thematic material was included . . .

ParticipantI will be working on a Harry Potter movie in a few months . . . I wanted this one to be special
Katie
ParticipantNow that we know they’re checking out this website . . . maybe they’ll go ahead, take our advice, and reshoot the whole movie without the highly disturbing Willy Wonka costume.
In other news, this week I’ve been caring for the squirrels they used in that movie
Katie
ParticipantNote to Danny Burton: never learn about music composition from internet posters who have all the musical knowledge of a fifth grader.
Katie
ParticipantWHY?????????
I think the only reason I have a problem with this is the hair. It all brings it together into an effeminate, eccentric child molester look.
Katie
ParticipantEw. He looks like Marilyn Manson.

ParticipantI spent Halloween at school most of the day, and then asleep as soon as I got home around 5:00 (well, first I got to clean puke out of my carpet and remove beer bottles from the strangest places). The night before I was in costume . . . people liked it a lot, but it was nothing Elfman related.
I’m not THAT geeky

ParticipantHoward Shore was at that one, right?? Which is why he wouldn’t have been at the Hollywood Bowl here in LA . . . which was awful by the way! It was the first time in my life I’ve walked out on a performance (and it was to get away from the music, since if you’ve ever been to the Hollywood Bowl you know that nobody really gets to leave until the concert is over!) . . . It was truly, truly embarassing.
Katie
ParticipantYou may be interested in checking out Eric Whitacre’s opera (“opera electronica”) Paradise Lost. I hate electronic crud . . . but I went and saw the opera here in LA and thoroughly enjoyed it.

ParticipantHuh . . . not sure how I’m supposed to take that. Do I come off as mannish? Or is my posting somewhat gender-neutral? I’m a girl, I swear.
A lot of the animals at school respond to me as they do to males, which I’m not sure how I feel about. People never mistake me for a man, but a lot of the animals that only like/respect men like/respect me too. Crap.
