ParticipantWrong. Michael Kamen died (he scored THE IRON GIANT for Brad Bird too) and he was replaced by Giacchino

ParticipantHmmmm….? An American version of 8 1/2? I’s sure love to hear some more Elfman inspired Rota-esque music. I’m intrigued…
Monsterhead
ParticipantAgain, pure laziness.
Monsterhead
ParticipantBut this Alice movie is such a blah idea. Been there, seen that.
His choices are lazy, not just in film projects, but in design and in making of his movies. Burton and his team (whether or not they change from film to film, just look to be treading water with an uninspired master at the helm. I used to love his stuff, but man…. I’ve crammed my Tim Burton movie section to the bottom of my shelf.
Monsterhead
ParticipantI hear ya. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again – Burton is no longer making interesting choices. He’s lost his edge.
Monsterhead
ParticipantEeeee–y-oooo. What are perverts doing on the internet?
Monsterhead
ParticipantOy…. I give up on Burton. Remember when his involvement in a movie seemed exciting?
Monsterhead
ParticipantYup. All these years later. Well done!

ParticipantI spoke to some folks at La La Land records a while back and they said they’ve been working on producing Walker’s Flash and Batman: The Animated Series soundtracks. Also in their pipeline, is music for the vastly under-appreciated Willard remake. This pleases me so, since Ryan consistently refuses my offers for a copy of his promo CD…
Monsterhead
ParticipantI remember this stuff! I got mine with a plastic Batman bank shrink-wrapped to the box…
Monsterhead
ParticipantGood interview. I hate to talk smack, but that interviewer’s voice annoyed the crap outta me…

ParticipantIf it’s true, I say 10 to 1 it’s Del Toro. Like Raimi and Jackson (both previous Elfman collaborators that I highly doubt he will ever work with again) methinks some of these “visionary” directors are going mad with power. I’ve worked on some Raimi projects and the is simply bonkers. There’s artistry and there’s mico-management. I’m left thinking about the words of my mentor; you get the most talented people together and let them do their best work. Not much of that anymore.
And besides, if people are unhappy with Elfman’s work – won’t Beltrami pick up the slack?
Monsterhead
ParticipantMmmmm…. I’ll hold off on my opinion until I can hear more. Sounds promising though.
Monsterhead
ParticipantSounds like you’ve got some calls to make…
Monsterhead
ParticipantWhat kind of research and how much wider should the net be? If you could have the finished piece, resting in your hands, what would it contain?
Monsterhead
ParticipantThanks for the update Batman. I’m sure Danny was surprised to see you there.
Monsterhead
ParticipantWasn’t he the lead singer of Kajagoogoo?
Monsterhead
ParticipantYou’re thinking of Elliot Goldenthall. To my knowledge, Elfman usually stays away from super hero-type movies.
Monsterhead
ParticipantYeah, this is exactly the kind of music that I expected post-Sereneda. Both Charlotte’s Web and The Kingdom were hard for me to fully digest, but this music reminds me of what I love about Elfman. I’ll be listening to this one for a long time…
Monsterhead
ParticipantTrue dat my friend, true dat.
Monsterhead
ParticipantThat’s great news. And wasn’t Elfman doing A LIFE BEYOND HER EYES? The latest from HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG director? I see that he stuck with predictable old Horner once again…
Monsterhead
ParticipantWhere’s Dolores?!?! That’s in the top three for me…!
Monsterhead
ParticipantA-ha! That’s wonderful news. I’m looking forward to this even more…

ParticipantYeah, he did. Just like the link tells you when you read it.
Monsterhead
ParticipantThis kind of sucks…
