Just received an email from Warner saying that the box won’t be shipping till the beginning of April. The people who ordered the limited version will be receiving theirs first (which I luckily am). Although I’m sad that I’ll have to wait over another month, I’m happy that they didn’t rush it either.

And the delay might only be for the second pressings. I ordered from the original 1000 and the email that they just sent me was just promo material about the USB drive and no mention of a delay.

Thanks for the new video… also I watched the new video on the facebook page where they mentioned that the USB has extra music that wouldn’t fit on the CDs… so there’s even MORE music to look forward to!!!!! I can’t wait, shouldn’t be long now!

There’s been a few Repeat composers on his films, Including Kamen, showing that he must not be too demanding.

Man, it was a gift. They didn’t need to do that. I hope you don’t scrutinize all your gifts like that – which I know you don’t, so just consider that before rushing off to the internet to bemoan what was given to you as a GIFT. I was not disappointed at all – I could have cared less what was on the disc (except for the autograph on the cover). Next I half expect someone to start putting it down for not having Tim sign it as well…?

It was a wonderful gesture from everyone involved at even more cost (of money and time) to the people who put this thing together. I for one think it’s just a sign of the quality of product that will arrive in February. I, for one, plan on getting the signed slipcase, disc, and accompanied letter mounted and framed for a nice piece to hang in my office.

The coolest thing about the Golden Globes is that you can drink there, so the speeches are always more lively and less stiff.

Batman was also produced at 5000 copies while Batman Returns is 3500, don’t forget about that.

Listening to the score right now – just got it in today, and I have to say that there was A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT of great music left off even with the length of the original… with this also being my favorite score, it’s almost like listening to this score with new ears!

The ads are real, but it doesn’t use Elfman’s music and there is narration over them as well… This is just a compilation of a few of their commercial (just search YouTube and you will find the actual commercials) with the music layered on it, nothing more.

Don’t hear any woodwind or brass, so I guess this was an all Strings & Percussion Orchestra with the solo piano (augmented by electronic sounds)…. or were their any woodwind or brass.

I like the lack of winds – it’s a change from, especially, his Burton scores.

Yeah, it was kind of weird because the charged showed up as pending for almost 4 days then went away again… I guess it just might be something with my bank and not actually something from Warner Bros. – If that’s the case then I’ll expect the same thing to happen next month around the same time.

    Man, I can’t wait!!!!!

    Hi all,

I Pre-ordered the Box Set when it was announced and they charged my Credit Card, however, this was only to run the card to make sure it was valid. They then took the charge off till, I assumed, they were ready to ship the box out (as they state on their site), but this morning I awoke to find that they again have charged my Credit Card… could this mean that the box set is READY NOW, or is there something else going on? No confirmation, or anything else, in my email box.

Has anyone else, who has pre-ordered this, had the same thing happen?

    Nat

P.S. Luckily I still had enough money to cover it, as it was a Debit Credit Card account.

I had suggested, when Mr. Kraft asked on the FSM board, that we get something along the lines of the Disney – Menken / Ashman box set with demos and alternates and I’ve got just that, granted, it is a lot more expensive, but I don’t mind double dipping if it means we get that and what equates to be 250 pages of liner notes! If the book is even half as good as the Disney one then it will be a treat to read!

There’s only one person I can think of who I would be willing to shell out $500 without any hesitation at all, and he so happened to release this box set… even a similar set from… say, John Williams would be something I would have to think about, but this is something any one who knows me would not consider unexpected that I purchased (and for that price). This is no different than a big sports fan paying for season tickets to his or her favorite team…

I’m Team Elfman all the way!!!!

You know you can also look at this as an investment if you are inclined to do so… THERE IS ONLY GOING TO BE 1000 of these! In an age where there are people who can create fakes of limited edition discs rather easy, this is one that no one will duplicate, and can be something you pass down to your kid/kids, making it an investment, not just of money.

I’ve got mine ordered… I’m just wondering if there IS a coupon code for this and who has it? Also this is a steal compared to the $300 price tag on “The Art of Tim Burton – Deluxe Edition” Set… at least with that one there is a cheaper alternative.

That would have been cool then, but since this is going to be a big 3D tent-post type of film, the movie studio would have a say at what type of music it needs as well, that said I hope that’s NOT the case, but I’m less inclined to care now that Elfman has left.

If it would have created a jazzy score from Elfman I would have missed that, but something tells me they won’t go that way with the score.

Ah, civility returns to the boards once again… Now let’s talk about the fact that Richard Kraft (if it WAS him) actually asked what people wanted in the big box set… what’s up with that… Ryan, do you have any idea if that was him or if it was just another FSM board impostor?

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves….

I too shouldn’t post late at night or early in the morning Bookbinder3, but that’s when I got the time usually.

Everyone I know, knows who Danny Elfman is because I mention him all the time. So I’ve succeeded in getting his name out in the West Chester area outside Philadelphia… although it was to the point where someone made a poster saying “Danny Elfman Sucks!” as a joke. I didn’t mind because I knew he was just jealous. And on a side note, Danny’s 2nd cousin Donald Elfman work at my company for a while – he has been a jazz musician and producer for such labels as Telarc and Nonesuch.

I guess because he’s a friend of Danny’s? Could that be the reason… most people here are so over-dramatic, really DIE you would throw-up and die… this is why I don’t usually contribute here, so Elfman is off of “Green Hornet”, does that mean we should only be writing about how Sh*tty that is? Or can we try to be a little bit more… oh hell, why am I trying, I’m going to go do something that makes me feel good….
