KeymasterI think the top 25 will be presented live in concert, not on TV.
Apparently AFI film qoutes can warrant a show of their own, but not film scores.

KeymasterHaha. Someday. There are some behind-the-scenes stuff that I’d like to keep to myself. I hate reading tidbits elsewhere (like, say, Chris Young scoring SPIDER-MAN 3) that originated here, without any credit at all.

KeymasterI believe it’s only a set of samples and Finale probably only works with MIDI sounds.

KeymasterNo comment on Ratner.

KeymasterI just read about this at Defamer and came over to post and dammit, SleepyHello is on the ball!
Remember that Ratner alternates between Schifrin and Elfman. And that Elfman’s schedule is pretty much loaded this year. X3 is positioned to hit theaters next summer (unrealistically it seems) — he may not even have time to score it.

KeymasterWhen I was in Los Angeles I had the opportunity to meet many composers. On two seperate occasions, with two seperate composers who do not know each other, I was told that Christopher Young was the man on SPIDER-MAN 3. I’m not going to tell you who these composers were, and frankly I don’t need to. I’m not in the business of spreading rumors and I certainly wouldn’t manufacture this story considering I run this site and the last thing I want to do is start a wave of fanboy criticism of Elfman’s two SPIDER-MAN scores and their relief that he is not scoring SPIDER-MAN 3.
That said, this was in February. Four months ago. A lot can change in that amount of time.

The MPAA is out of control.

KeymasterPoledouris would be miraculous, but he has taken himself out of film scoring (though it is rumored he is planning to return).
If you want to read the whole SPIDER-MAN III revelations, go here. I recommend you read the entire thread. All the answers are in there.

KeymasterThey don’t compare, because Silvestri actually scored MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. Elfman hasn’t written a note for SPIDER-MAN III.

KeymasterI think Ottman has handled enough super-hero franchises, what with X2, FANTASTIC FOUR and SUPERMAN.

KeymasterI don’t think “Batterdammerung” is a finale cue anyways. It actually plays as Batman defeats both The Riddler AND Two-Face at once! What a super-star! There is then a short cue for Two-Face’s fist closing on his coin and I believe another for the romantic aftermath between Chase and Bruce and then a reprise of the main Batman Forever theme as a rubber-eared Batman and Robin charge towards the camera, seemingly infront of the Bat Signal, which supposedly is bolted to a roof somewhere, insinuating that Bat and Robin are about to run right over the edge of the roof…
What a piece of shit!
