Does anyone else hear the theme for Wanted in Electros theme?
sandyclawsParticipantIt sounds like John Powell. Interesting.
sandyclawsParticipantI saw it last night and enjoyed most of it. There were some serious story problems that could have been fixed if Tim Burton would have taken out all his self-indulgent moments (the ball, the awkward and unfunny sex scene, Christopher Lee cameo) that had nothing to do with the story and focused more on what was important (the love story). It could have been great.
I loved the music on album and even more in the movie. I hope someday the complete score is released with all the great moments that were not included on the soundtrack album. The film version of Vicki Enters Collinwood was incredible.
sandyclawsParticipantThat was my favorite time period for Elfman scores. 89′ thru 93′. Batman Returns was the best of them all. I can’t wait for the complete score!
sandyclawsParticipantBelieve me, there is major excitement going on from me! Can’t wait!
sandyclawsParticipantI sure hope the movie is better than this trailer. I was excited for this one but the trailer made Seth Rogan’s schtick look really tired and unoriginal and the Kato characters acting looked truly awful! Please tell me it is better than that.
sandyclawsParticipantCould this be one of the two 2-disc releases La-la Land will be debuting? I sure hope so!
sandyclawsParticipantI just hope Tim Burton will start focusing more time and effort getting a good script together to go along with his amazing visuals. Visuals only go so far. Alice in Wonderland would have been amazing if I wasn’t rolling my eyes at the terribly disjointed plot and bad dialogue.
sandyclawsParticipantI don’t think Danny Elfman has been effected by the latest Tim Burton movies. Just listen to Hellboy II and Wolfman as proof. Tim Burton on the other hand has become way too predictable and safe. He has definitely been “disneyfied”. Elfman is just stuck scoring them.
sandyclawsParticipantI just watched the directors cut on blu-ray. It is ten times better than the one released in theaters and it sounded like only Danny’s music was in it. There was a lot of music missing from the score album. Fingers crossed that a complete score will surface one of these days.
sandyclawsParticipantYes, the movie was a mess. I curious about the directors cut. I read that that version is not so bad. Oh well. At least we got a longer album out of it. If the score had stayed in the movie, Danny wouldn’t have put together a long album. We probably would have only got a 45- 50 minute album like Alice in Wonderland.
sandyclawsParticipantMan I’m loving The Wolfman! Just the gothic horror I’ve been craving since Sleepy Hollow.
sandyclawsParticipantIf this is the exact same version Danny handed out to the crew then it’s a safe bet that it is the version he originally intended for the movie. Not the hack-job that is in the current edit. I saw a copy of the track listing of the promo and it looks to be the same.
sandyclawsParticipantObserve an Report made me uncomfortable from beginning to end. It was painful to watch.
Pineapple Express had its funny moments, mostly from Franco, but had major identity crisis.
I’m hoping Green Hornet doesn’t take itself too serious. Could be a lot of fun, with a score I hope that is similar in style as his Mission: Impossible score but with a more tongue in cheek approach.
sandyclawsParticipantI hope he sticks to the jazzy score like the original theme.
sandyclawsParticipantOh good! I’m glad there will be a separate score release. I saw at the link below the track listing and I wanted to vomit.
sandyclawsParticipantDo you know which volume of Brand X it’s on?
sandyclawsParticipantI had the exact same response when I first got this, but after a few listens I finally caught on to this score. Now it is one of my most listened to scores this year. I love it! My favorite of course is “The Seamstress” where the best theme of them all comes out. I also love the track “Sanctuary”. I love the mysterious sound to it. Keep listening to it; hopefully you will come to appreciate it as I have. One negative thing about it though is that the end titles are not on the cd, which go through all the themes. I would love to hear the theme in Seamstress more than once on the cd. Poorly represented score on cd.
sandyclawsParticipantI am soooo disappointed. I was there in New York at the time of the tribute party and had no idea it was going on! I knew the exhibit was going to happen but I was leaving before the opening but had no idea that they were all there when I could have seen them! BAAH!! (head explodes) Oh well, I guess there’s always next time…..NEVER! Alright, I’m done. Thanks for listening.
sandyclawsParticipantI saw the movie yesterday and loved it. I loved everything BUT the music, it did have the Elfman vibe but I thought the movie was terribly underscored. It almost made the movie feel hollow and it just was very annoying in some parts. If a movie can survive a bad score like this one did, you know it’s a great one!
sandyclawsParticipantI was totally disappointed by the score on cd. But I loved the score in the movie. You are right, there is a whole lot of music not on the cd. I hope a complete score starts circulating soon. I didn’t care for the first hellboy on cd but loved the complete score as well. Way to go Elfman!
sandyclawsParticipantNot really Oingo Boingo but elfman none the less. During Halloween I was at our local theme park in Utah they dress it all up for the holiday and they had a Spook Alley that had Planet of the Apes playing at the entrance to it. And on the speakers through the whole park they were playing spooky soundtracks with tons of Elfman. It was awesome!! I was in heaven.
