One sure way is to watch some of the special features on the second disc in the DVD set. I know there’s quite a bit of the cut cues throughout the features, but only a precious few without voices over them. Other than that, dunno what to tell ya; believe me, I’ve looked everywhere. I have no faith that Sony will release any of it officially.
EDIT: I’ve also tried such methods as staring up into the stars all night to see if any CD-shaped objects that could contain the material in question fell out of the sky, better yet, one that would land squarely on my noggin, in all its greatness. Um…that doesn’t work either. Stay tuned for future updates on how NOT to obtain the lost Spider-Man 2 cues.
D-BoParticipantHere’s a direct link to the mp3, for those who wanna download it.
D-BoParticipant“Cut and paste job”, he says. Ahahaha.
*ahem*
I use Adobe Audition, currently version 1.5. Audition is really the same ‘Cool Edit’ that Weepy Donut mentioned in the first post, but Adobe bought it somewhere along the line.
D-BoParticipantI love doing that stuff. I posted some at least a year ago, maybe longer. But here’s a new one I did recently.
A lot of these things I do for gaming purposes, thus they are primarily action-driven, with no real thematic value necessarily.
D-BoParticipantJust to add it here for now, until I get a bit more detailed review.
THE FAMILY MAN: “Grand Finale/End Credits”
Quite simply one of the most beautiful of Elfman’s finales I’ve heard. Just over five minutes in length.D-BoParticipantErm, well, most of the time. There were a couple spots where I thought something was a bit off as far as that goes. Only saw it once, so I can’t name any specific part.
D-BoParticipantWow. Ryan, you’re awesome.
Just one thing, how come it seems like people have had this for a while and no one talked about it?
D-BoParticipantKinda looks that way, doesn’t it? Unfortunate, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.
D-BoParticipant*gasp* I knew it!
D-BoParticipantWell, if my copyright-threatened friends from Alfred Publishing are any indication, expect one from them in the near future. Or perhaps single-song sheet music purchases online.
October 5, 2005 at 5:07 am in reply to: Alfred demanding me to remove “Victor’s Piano Solo”?!! #55376D-BoParticipantActually, no. It was sent to my school e-mail (which I have never disclosed here) because I was using my personal university online space to host the file (I have found no other good, free space). Apparently, Alfred Publishing contacted someone associated with the university and that person was the one from whom I actually got the e-mail.
D-BoParticipantDon’t even think about uploading as a PDF. Trust me. Read my new topic above for an explanation of that one.
October 5, 2005 at 3:08 am in reply to: Alfred demanding me to remove “Victor’s Piano Solo”?!! #55369D-BoParticipantThanks. Well, I just talked to my dad about it and he also said I should remove it. (I’m trying, but the frikkin’ site isn’t loading up!) Arrgh! I will e-mail them back and tell them I’ve removed the link, but I may also argue my position and maybe use some of your points, Knight. Oh well, I’ll find a way. Maybe I could ask if the Cerulean Pictures guy would take it. I don’t know how he gets around that, but…I dunno. The whole thing is just stupid.
Everyone feel free to continue to give your opinions.
D-BoParticipantApologies, people, but the homework wave has hit me like a brick wall. Consequently, I haven’t had time to work on this at all. It may be quite a while before you see it up here. I promise y’all will be the first to see it. Sorry, though.
D-BoParticipantI agree with Spider-Fan.
I asked if he could tell us anything about the upcoming second performance of Serenada Schizophrana and if a recording would be released, and another question on whether anyone would ever get to hear his Piano Concerto #1-and-a-1/2. Unfortunately, neither got answered.
D-BoParticipantWow. That’s cool! Thank you Ryan! I think I might try something like this myself; I had some other slightly different ideas of how it might have been.
D-BoParticipantSpider-Man
Hulk
Men In Black
The Nightmare Before Christmas
BatmanThere’s gotta be others I’m forgetting.
April 12, 2005 at 4:10 am in reply to: S-M2 Disc 2 filled with truckload of unreleased music! #53783D-BoParticipantHoly cow. I just watched all those parts you had mentioned, Spider-Fan, and I’m amazed at just how much material there was left. I want to say we should petition for Sony to release the entire score (and unused cues) for this movie (or both movies), but, unfortunately, there’s no big reason for them to do it. Oh, the pain! Make it stop!

D-BoParticipantThanks, Phil. I open up your challenge to all other Elfman fans, as that took way too much work for me to put together before, and I probably won’t make another one soon. It was also made when Hulk had just come out, so that’s why some of the newer stuff isn’t in there.
D-BoParticipantI know it’s at least John Tesh and John Bisharat, but I don’t recognize the name Koval.
D-BoParticipantWow, my suite on Ryan’s playlist! I’m honored!
Oh, Ryan, question: Would there be any complications such as copyrights or something like that if I were to compose a kind of “Fantasia” on Danny’s various themes for Spider-Man, and have it performed? It’s just an idea I’d been tossing around for a while.
D-BoParticipantYeah, the close-up swing part is new. I’d heard it when the DVD originally came out, but didn’t really think of putting it in until recently. I thought there was no way I could let an unreleased cue this beautiful go. It had to make it in there somehow, so I had to transpose that part down a half-step, then the rest of Appreciation down a whole step, in order to make the keys match. That and the transition to Armageddon is better. Overall, I’m quite pleased with it.
Anyways, thank you very much for your kind comments. I had hoped to be finished transcribing it all by summer 2007, but I feel it doesn’t too much matter now that we know Danny’s not scoring Spidey 3. He’s Back/Main Titles and Appreciation are done.
D-BoParticipantHi, Danny Burton! Thanks for the compliment; didn’t seem like too many people were very interested the first time is was posted. Anyways, since then, i’ve made a small change (and I really think you’ll like it). However, that change came with a price as there is a kind-of bad edit that couldn’t be avoided around 5:12. Just imagine a chord or note or something being held much longer there (I haven’t quite figured out exactly how I want to do that yet). Anyways, here it is:

EDIT: Just now I read the topic again, and totally misunderstood what you were talking about, silly me. I probably took it offline; online space is a precious commodity. I’ve uploaded it once more, so here ya go:
http://portfolio.iu.edu/dbohanno/Music/HistoryOfElfman.mp3
I’ll keep the Suite from Spider-Man 2 online in case anyone wants to hear it.
D-BoParticipant*Does best “Empire Strikes Back” Luke Skywalker imitation*
No…THAT’S NOT TRUE…THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
*sigh* Well, that’s it. I have nothing more to live for. I don’t think I want to see Spider-Man 3 now. I know I’ll just sit there in the theater with a scowl on my face the whole time thinking “You IDIOTS! HOW could you have DONE this?!” Yep, forget it.
Well, I really hope Charlie and Corpse Bride cheer me up. Actually, looking more forward to Bride’s score than Charlie.
