Yes, the score (and the movie) is finished already. Just sitting on the shelf, waiting to be unleashed.

I’m a sucker for the Penguin theme (prolly one of my favorites of Danny’s) and to hear all the different arrangements of it, I’m in hog heaven. Finally getting to hear Penguin’s Grand Deed after all these years is a delight. I’m also liking a lot of the alt on the second disc, not to mention all the great circus music!!! Very happy with this release.

LuciusParticipantSo, anyone gotten the score from iTunes yet? Why is everyone so quiet? Or is everyone still choked up from how beautiful and mature “The Truth” cue is?
Lucius
LuciusParticipantI know this is a long press release, but did anyone notice that it says Elfman is scoring Real Stee,l the rock em’ sock em’ robots type movie starring Hugh “Houdini” Jackman.?
” His upcoming projects include Paul Haggis’ Next Three Days, Real Steel, Gus Van Sant’s Restless, Men in Black 3″

LuciusParticipantSoon!
LuciusParticipantWait, this guy isn’t real!? I just befriended him and gave him my social security number and credit card information. Dammit!!!
Lucius
LuciusParticipantWhy kind of a world to we live in, where a man who flies in a BAT…gets the fade out treatment? This album needs an enema!
Lucius
LuciusParticipantSPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!
And now back to our regular Elfman discussions.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantWe can now officially throw this option onto the pile:

Lucius
LuciusParticipantThe Joker commercial WAS used in the movie (and unreleased). I think you are referring to the Joker Muzak track with wasn’t in the picture (that’s old Hollywood speak, for movie). It was supposed to used in the museum scene, playing on the boom box, but was later replaced with “Theme From a Summer Place”.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantHere’s another Elfman music on Batman Begins video. This one is pretty well done, I think.

Lucius
LuciusParticipantThere is an article about Green Hornet on HitFix. I thought this quote was particularly cool:
[When I asked about the score, Gondry told us that Danny Elfman is still in the very early stages of working on it, and Seth laughed. “Watching him and Michel weird out together is pretty rad.”]

Lucius
LuciusParticipantLooks like we may be waiting a bit longer.
[and yes Ryan, I made sure this wasn’t an Ain’t It Cool News article ]
Lucius
LuciusParticipantWhhhhy you! Actually I think even YOU will like it, Ryan. We’ll discuss after you see it.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantIt’s a totally original cue. Very subtle, but really good. You can totally hear some of his samples in it. I’m curious to find out the story on how that happened. And yes, Kick Ass totally lives up to it’s name. I can’t wait to see it again.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantLooks like a cover made for a bootleg. Curious how they got the track names, unless they made them up, or had to hunt through the long list of song credits at the end of the movie. (Prolly both) I sure would love to hear the whole thing. I hear all of Elfman’s work was excellent.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantSorry about that, Ryan. I forgot about your ‘Harry Hate’. Don’t ban me from the forum. I will only post from legitimate sites from now on. Does Perez Hilton cover movies?
Lucius
LuciusParticipantWell, here is another possible one. Elfman may no longer be the comic book guy and might be the Monster guy from here on out. We’ll see.

Lucius
LuciusParticipantHate his voice, but damn I love him interviews.

Here’s the link to Jane’s blog. You’ll see Danny singing with a cuban band.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantThat one is okay, but I like this one better. It sez the same thing, but more creatively.

Lucius
LuciusParticipantWelllll, ABC = Disney, (as I’m sure you all know) so they just wanted some free press for that Alice movie. But hopefully this will be a prediction for the Alice score being nominated NEXT year…I mean it damn well should be.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantI wonder where THOSE came from?

Lucius
LuciusParticipantHahahaha….whoops! Hey, blame Chud. Anyway, did you hear Elfman’s score on the Alice website…it’s awesome…and not Brand X at all! Well, I’m gonna take a cold shower and cut myself now.
Lucius
LuciusParticipantThis was posted on Chud.com and contains some of Paul Haslinger’s rejected score. In a nutshell, thank GOD the Universal execs stopped smoking crack and kept Elfman! I know I would say that even if this stuff was really good…not to say this is bad music; it would work for a lot of movies, just not Wolfman. So, take a listen at what we were almost left with.
