I think that Gilliam is a bit of a stickler when it comes to his scores. I would love to see these two work together, but I bet that it would end in a catastrophic conclusion. Listen to his commentaries on BRAZIL and BARON MUNCHAUSEN and listen to him nitpick Kamen’s amazing music here and there. He is not too democratic when it comes to his artistic decisions and I doubt that Elfman would put up with it.
Just a guess, however.

I too have always wanted to know and frankly suspected it to be from an old record. But it was on the isolated score on the old DVD and in stereo, sounding quite crisp and clean – so it may have been an original piece after all. I’ve never seen or heard it anywhere else.

Additionally, the original “limited edition” turns out to be no limited at all, with pre-orders for that beginning in February?

According to Deadline, Wynona Ryder, Martin Landau, Catherine O’ Hara and Martin Short will provide voices for Burton’s upcoming remake.

Yeah, I bet things were pretty awkward for Bartek when he refused to remove Burton from his Top Friends List during the “Black Beauty” scoring sessions. Interesting mix. I think I’d rather hang out watching movies in Venice than write music for The Green Hornet, too.
Not sure why the link is not showing up. Fangoria reports that March 9th, 2012 is the release date for the 3D animated film. John August is writing the screenplay.
I can live with that. Here’s hoping for a more interesting Elfman/Gondry collaboration in the future.
