ParticipantI think that Gilliam is a bit of a stickler when it comes to his scores. I would love to see these two work together, but I bet that it would end in a catastrophic conclusion. Listen to his commentaries on BRAZIL and BARON MUNCHAUSEN and listen to him nitpick Kamen’s amazing music here and there. He is not too democratic when it comes to his artistic decisions and I doubt that Elfman would put up with it.
Just a guess, however.

ParticipantBwwwwaaahahaha!
I absolutely LOVE the look on Danny’s face at the conclusion of the interview. Thanks for sharing!

ParticipantNeedle-drop is also slang for library music…
I too have always wanted to know and frankly suspected it to be from an old record. But it was on the isolated score on the old DVD and in stereo, sounding quite crisp and clean – so it may have been an original piece after all. I’ve never seen or heard it anywhere else.

ParticipantEric Bana is in talks to star:
Monsterhead
ParticipantWow. Here is a soundtrack that I will be buying and a movie that I will not be seeing. Seriously, Terminator Salvation had more going for it than this appears.
Monsterhead
ParticipantYeah, so it looks like the actual CD was cancelled. Looks like I will be ordering that UK release after all…
Monsterhead
ParticipantThat is a UK release date.
Monsterhead
ParticipantAnd now that the printing cost are already paid for with all the pre-orders, I’m sure this limited edition will be around for a good while. Sure hope that Disc 17 A) fits somewhere in the box and
something worth while.
Monsterhead
ParticipantSooooooo…. They could not complete the design of a box in time, so they just whipped up a whole separate CD to tide people over, the contents of which are unknown in terms of length and whats on it. Additionally, the original “limited edition” turns out to be no limited at all, with pre-orders for that beginning in February?
I’m all for capitalism, but c’mon.
Monsterhead
ParticipantI second that! THE GHOST WRITER was a great score. And the Academy seems to love Desplat.
Monsterhead
ParticipantThe Social Network was a great score. And you know how the Academy loves honoring former Rock artists turned film composers
Monsterhead
ParticipantYup. Oh well, at least there is a great score to look forward too…
Monsterhead
ParticipantThemes by Danny Elfman. Music by Deborah Lurie.
Monsterhead
ParticipantWow, that’s Elfman alright. Looking forward to this soundtrack.
Monsterhead
ParticipantNO
Monsterhead
ParticipantFuck the Fudderwackens. This kind of price tag is why people download music illegally. And the skull USB drive with all the mp3s already on them!? C’mon. These albums are gonna be everywhere…

ParticipantAccording to Deadline, Wynona Ryder, Martin Landau, Catherine O’ Hara and Martin Short will provide voices for Burton’s upcoming remake.

ParticipantWow…we have hit the bottom of Elfman related stuff to discuss. Yeah, I bet things were pretty awkward for Bartek when he refused to remove Burton from his Top Friends List during the “Black Beauty” scoring sessions. And don’t forget, BB director/TNBC screenwriter Carolyn Thompson was an old flame of Danny’s…
Monsterhead
ParticipantInteresting mix. I think I’d rather hang out watching movies in Venice than write music for The Green Hornet, too.
Monsterhead
ParticipantNot sure why the link is not showing up. Fangoria reports that March 9th, 2012 is the release date for the 3D animated film. John August is writing the screenplay.
Monsterhead
ParticipantI can live with that. Here’s hoping for a more interesting Elfman/Gondry collaboration in the future.
Monsterhead
ParticipantAh, yes. Thank you Lucius. That’s what I was referring too. Just got them mixed up.
Monsterhead
ParticipantForget Haunted Mansion and Frankenstein; this is a Elfman/Del Toro collaboration I want to see and hear:
